The boys and I love playing this multicultural memory-matching game! They have already identified characters that “look like them,” which adds a meaningful layer to our play.
As an Occupational Therapist, I'm always on the lookout for play-based activities that support the development of essential skills for children to engage in their meaningful occupations. Memory-matching games are one of my personal favorites! They promote executive functioning skills such as organization, planning, and prioritization. Additionally, they target working memory, attention, and fine motor skills.
This game also fosters visual perceptual skills like visual attention and memory, as well as important social skills such as turn-taking. All of these are crucial for supporting learning and participation both at school and at home.
Colouring books are the greatest lessons of Canadian Black History . The books are well spoken , with the words, it was easy to read , easy to understand . It makes me proud, to learn more of my Black Canadian History ,
I donated my books , to a school on my First Nation of Enoch Cree Nation . I am black & First Nation . My daughter was the first black child onnthe nation, I was raised by my black grandsons & when I went to visit my indigenous kukom ( grandmother)
I always thought , I had two worlds .
Both grandmothers , lived strong in thier cultures , so I was confused & blessed
. I want my little sisters of colour , to know , they are not alone . Be Proud to have Black History in their books . I hope the school , can use celebrating Black History Awareness Month .
I also loved the crayon colours
, I wish I had those different colours in crayons . I was shocked to see so many colours , that match the rest of the world .
I also got the puzzle & I can’t waiting to finish it and hang it on my wall forever . Education is the key to self love
I wanted to find a Black Santa doll for my multiracial children and finally found Noel and loved him and his story - by the time I found him it was very close to Christmas and so I emailed Akilah about how long it might take to reach us. she responded that same day and mailed out the dolls the next morning! they definitely made it in time and my kids loved the dolls, stickers and book! thank you so so so much <3
We were very happy with the quality of the Shawn doll. And being able to change out his cloths was a great surprise(we had other outfits already that we used)

They’re in my classroom already. Lovely colours and pictures. They’re a bit thinner than I thought, page length and paper wise, so hopefully they stand the test of my kindergarten students!
